![]() ![]() With the skill of a master storyteller, Sasson's writing is straightforward and accessible, with honest characters set into the flinty hardness and treachery of their times. Well titled, It is a story of bravery, honor and decency as much as a story of the un-ease of an honest, noble man, raised up by forces out of his control, to lead a rebellion and assume a crown that was not his aim to ever wear. Author Sasson has produced a remarkably readable account of his long struggle to gain Welsh independence from England. I mostly blame myself for failing until now, in finding the story of Owain Glyndwr, the last true Prince of Wales. Long a student of Celtic history, I always had a desire to know more of the traditions of the Welsh people and their nation. ![]()
